Campus location - The main offices of the Department of Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering are located on the second floor of Bainer Hall.
Parking - On weekdays, to park on campus, you will need to purchase a $6.00 all day parking permit from the bright yellow permit dispense machine located in each parking lot. Permit dispensers will accept quarters, one-dollar bills, Visa or MasterCard. Parking on weekends is free, except during special events.
Help - Once you get on campus, you can look for one of the following four visitors information kiosks:

- South Gate Visitor Information Kiosk - Old Davis Road off of Interstate 80, (530) 752-0660

Driving Instructions
- Depending on when you arrive, you may find parking a problem.
- In the following, if you use "Alternative A," you are very likely to find a parking spot.
- If you follow "Alternative B", you (maybe) won't have to walk as far, but you may have to cruise among several lots and may not find a spot.
From Interstate 80 East:
- Take Interstate 80 East. Exit at UC Davis.
- Turn left at stop sign onto Old Davis Road.
- Pass the South Gate Information Kiosk (or stop for further information if desired).
From Interstate 80 West:
- Take Interstate 80 West. Exit at UC Davis.
- Turn right at stop sign onto Old Davis Road.
- Pass the South Gate Information Kiosk (or stop for further information if desired).
Alternative A
- After passing the Information Kiosk, continue toward the parking structure.
- Turn right directly before the parking structure.
- Drive past the parking structure to the surface visitor parking lots 1 or 2.
- Purchase a parking permit and park.
- Proceed on foot to Bainer per the map below.
Alternative B
- Immediately after passing the Information Kiosk, turn left at the first intersection (California Ave.)
- Continue straight at the stop sign and turn left at the next intersection (La Rue).
- Start cruising for a spot. The first, small parking lot on your right is Lot 46, which is closest to Bainer, but is not available for public day use. If you continue on La Rue, two other large lots will appear, Lots 47 and 47A. Good luck.
- Purchase a parking permit and park.
- Proceed on foot to Bainer per the map below.
Campus Map
Bainer Hall is slightly south of the center of campus. UC Davis is a friendly place, so feel free to ask passersby for help. Bainer is next to the Silo , and everyone knows where the Silo is (because it has coffee and food).
